Wintersports in the Krkonoše Mountains
The Krkonoše (Giant) Mountains National Park of northeast
Bohemia offers superb scenery, excellent downhill and cross-country ski
and snowboarding facilities.

Svoboda Nad Úpou is a famous Ski resort - 1,5 km
Within 1,5km of the Blue Pension is the “DUNCAN” ski
area. They have the the following facilities: downhill and cross -
country skiing for beginners and for advanced skiers, skiing whith
artificial lighting, technical snow, parking place 50m from the bottom
station of the ski-lift and free ski bus service. You can also hire
skiing equipment here, and if you want to learn how to ski or snowboard
then you can sign up at the skischool 'DUNCAN'.

Janské Lázně/Černá hora - 4 km
It is easy to learn skiing or improve your skiing
abilities in K + K ski school. Their experienced instructors can help
you master downhill or cross - country skiing, snowboarding or carving. K
+ K ski school guarantees the highest teaching standards and a

Pec pod Snežkou on - 10 km
The highest mountain of Czech republic. The town of Pec
pod Snežkou is today one of the largest and best known resorts in the
Giant Mountains. The town has a chair lift up to Mt. Snežka (1602 metres
above-sea-level), which is the highest mountain in the Czech Republic.
In winter you can choose from many slopes with ski lifts of varying
sizes. Cross-country skiers will also find ideal terrains, especially at
Velká Úpa and Lucinky, and on the slopes of Lišcí Hora Mountain above
Pec. Naturally, you can also hire skiing equipment here, and if you want
to learn how to ski or snowboard then you can sign up at any of a whole
number of skiing schools here.

Černý důl - 6 km
The ski school Happy Hill is located in the beautiful
winter sport centres in the Krkonoše Mountains in Pec pod Snežkou and
Cerný dul. They are a group of people who would rather be outside then
inside, like skiing and would like to invite you to join them in the
Czech Republic highest mountains. Their ski instructors have
internationally recognized licence and some of them belong to the best
in the Czech Republic.

There is a free ski bus service to all the ski areas. Every 20 minutes. A stop is in front of the Blue Pension.
